The DELE Test is the only Spanish certificate recognized by the Spanish government. Advanced speakers of Spanish can certificate their knowledge with the DELE at universities, for their employers or other institutions. Because of the fact that there is just one officially recognized certificate, it is useful to write the DELE even though you do not know where you are going to work. The Instituto Cervantes determines when the exam can be taken and how much will the exam fees cost.
This exam has several levels: the DELE basic level (Certicado Inicial de Español - CIE), the DELE middle level (Diploma Básico des Español - DBE) and the level for the advanced speakers, the Diploma Superior des Español (D.S.E.). Generally speaking, we recommend to take a Spanish course for 9 months and to work hard and be motivated in order to write the Certicado Inicial de Español. The following levels (the DELE Diplomas) are more difficult. Because of this, we recommend you to take a preparatory course, but you have to be aware of the fact that writing one of these exams means lots of work. Several of our schools offer this kind of courses. Please, do not hesitate to ask us, if you need help in order to decide which school would be better for you according to your knowledge.
